- "Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are a group of storage polyesters produced by a variety of bacterial species in inclusion bodies. One of them is polyhydroxyoctanoate (PHO), which have special characteristics for biomedical applications such as matrices in tissue engineering, wound dressing, and drug delivery. However, the high costs related to PHO production are due to the recovery of the polymer from the cellular matter. The use of organic solvent methods is the most common, but a disadvantage is the use of large quantities. Therefore, two different methods were evaluated in this study using sodium hypochlorite and compared with another previous study conducted at Laboratory of Bionanotechnology and Applied Microbiology (NANOBIOT)." -- Tomado del formato de documento de grado
