Abstracto

  • Background: beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L), the most widely consumed legume in the world has production problems related to phytosanitary quality mainly due to factors that reduce yields up to 50% as drought, misuse of agrochemicals and diseases affecting root and leaf. Macrophomina phaseolina produce charcoal rot disease plants, reducing grain weight up to 65%, causing yield losses greater than 10%. These diseases are routinely controlled with agrochemicals. However, its misuse have caused damage to soil characteristics affecting agricultural production in the long run. Objectives: To assess the compatibility of agrochemicals, bioinputs and essential oil extracted from Cymbopogon citratus (DC.) Stapf in the in vitro control of M. phaseolina. Methods: For the evaluation of the compatibility of agrochemicals with essential oil, agrochemical combinations of regional conventional production system were used in their recommended concentrations with the concentration of essential oil with greater inhibition of the pathogen and it was made the combination of agrochemicals with commercial Trichoderma (Trichol®). The essential oil was extracted from plant material by steam stripping distillation. It was determined the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) over the pathogen of C. citratus essential oil and the agrochemicals Lorsban® 2.5% DP, Roundup Brio®, Colizym® 500 SC, Mertect® 500 SC and it was assessed the compatibility of the treatments and its mixture with the bioinputs to concentretaion of 1g/L. The growth of Pathogen was measured for 2nd, 5th and 7th days. ANOVA and Tukey was applied to analyze the results. Results: the pathogen inhibition was 54.7% to concentration 800μg / ml and 97.5% to concentration 1200μg / ml of esential oil just at seventh day of measurement, the mixture of essential oil with agrochemical presented an inhibition of 92.9%. The concentrations of the fungicides showed inhibition effect to 87%. The mixing of agrochemical increases the efficiency on the inhibition of M. phaseolina. The essential oil of C. citratus and Colizym* are not compatible with Trichol®. Conclusions: the treatments were effective against the phytopathogenic, but there was no compatibility between the essential oil of C. citratus with Trichol® applied simultaneously. © 2016, Universidad de Antioquia.
