Antagonistic Potential of Trichoderma Spp. Strains Against Foliar Tree Pathogens in Parks of the Eastern Mountains of Bogota Artículo académico uri icon

Abstracto

  • Urban vegetation cover provides several ecosystem services. However, diseases caused by phytopathogens are decreasing, and it is thus vital to promote forest health; this requires identifying the symptoms that affect forest health, as well as the microorganisms that generate pathological symptoms, in order to find biological control alternatives. Consequently, the objective of this research is to evaluate the antagonistic potential of 5 Trichoderma spp. strains against foliar phytopathogens in urban trees. Samples were taken at 28 parks, distributed throughout the Eastern Mountain. Symptomatic leaves were collected at each sampling point, microorganisms were isolated and antagonism tests were performed. Results showed that 4 out of the 5 strains tested have an inhibition percentage over 60 %, making them promising candidates for phytopathogen control. Furthermore, microorganisms such as Cladosporium spp., Fusarium spp. and Trichothecium spp. proved to be the most susceptible to the strain.
